Matisse Thybulle’s three-year offer will be matched
Matisse Thybulle was a player for the Philadelphia 76ers. If the Portland Trail Blazers were to match an offer for Matisse Thybulle, it would likely mean that Thybulle was a restricted free agent and the 76ers extended him a qualifying offer. The Trail Blazers could then present an offer sheet, which the 76ers have the opportunity to match if they want to keep Thybulle.
Present Report on July 6, 2023
According to reports, the Trail Blazers will match the Mavericks’ offer letter to Matisse Thybulle, a free agency swingman.
Swingman Matisse Thybulle, a restricted free agent for the Portland Trail Blazers, seems to be relocating. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Blazers will match the three-year offer sheet that Thybulle got from the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
Once the offer was signed by the Mavericks, the Trail Blazers had two days to accept it or reject it.
Thybulle played:
Thybulle played in 22 games for Portland last season, averaging 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and shooting 38.8% from outside the arc. Thybulle was acquired from the 76ers by the Hornets as part of a three-team trade at the trade deadline.
Thybulle, who was a second-team All-Defensive selection in 2020–21 and 2021–22, experienced a significant decline in his position with the 76ers last year. Nevertheless, he recovered well from his trade to the Blazers and is still a competent slasher and perimeter defender.
Blazers Acknowledgement
The Blazers, who have acknowledged that star guard Damian Lillard has requested a trade, are still deciding what to do with him. A reported five-year agreement with forward Jerami Grant was Portland’s only significant offseason move, aside from that.
